Minutes: The Licensing Sub-Committee considered a new Premises Licence in respect of a restaurant at 42 Station Way, Buckhurst Hill, IG9 6LN. The applicant Mr S Miah were present with his agent Dilek Alagoz and sister R Aka. The three councillors that presided over this item were Councillors R Morgan (Chairman), D Stocker and R Sharif. Cllr S Heather observed the meeting. Objectors present were Lucy Phillips and Heather Jones. Also present were N Boateng (Legal Service Manager and Monitoring Officer), H Ibrahim (Licence Compliance Officer), T Larsen (Democratic Service Officer) and R Moreton (Webcaster).
The Chairman welcomed the applicant and introduced the members and officers present.
The Licensing Compliance Officer informed the Sub-Committee of the circumstances under which the licence could not be dealt with under delegated authority.
The applicants made a short statement in support of the application before the objectors made their statement. The applicant answered questions from members of the Sub-Committee as well as from the objectors.

The Chairman invited the applicant, Licensing Officer, objectors and public back into the chamber and informed the applicant of the Sub-Committee’s decision.
The Chairman advised that this application had been treated on its own merits. The Sub-Committee had taken its decision based upon the information given in the report and to this hearing, the relevant representations received and the Council’s policies. The applicant was reminded of the right of appeal to the Magistrates' Court within 21 days of the date of the written notification of this decision.
Resolved:
The decision of this Sub-Committee is that the application for a Premise License in respect of 42 Station Way, Buckhurst Hill, IG9 6LN, be granted.
Subject to the revised hours put forward by the applicant of:
Opening hours: - 5pm to 10:30pm Monday to Saturday 5pm to 10pm on Sunday
For the sale of alcohol: - 5pm to 10pm Monday to Saturday 5pm to 9:30 on Sunday
Subject to the conditions as submitted by the applicant within their application.
Due to the revised hours for the service of alcohol there is no need for the late-night refreshment license. |
