Part B - General Information

1.

Overview & Scrutiny Select Committee Framework - Review

The Task and Finish Panel established by the Overview and Scrutiny Committee to review the structure of the current select committee framework met for the first time on 21 January 2019, to consider the scope of the review exercise. The Panel expressed disappointment at the level of attendance at the meeting from amongst the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the current select committees and other members that had expressed concern to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee in relation to the initial proposals for the restructure of the select committee framework that were considered in October 2018. The Panel needs to work quickly, in order that the establishment of an appropriate select committee framework for the next municipal year can be considered by the Committee at its meeting in April 2019. The next meeting is to be held on 31 January 2019 and the Panel would encourage such members to participate in the review process.
