Additional documents:

Minutes:

The meeting considered the final report of the Panel, summarising their deliberations and the conclusions reached. They noted:

  • That officers were keeping an eye on the current shortlisted proposals to see if they would be of any use to us locally;
  • It would be a very resource intensive exercise to carry out;
  • That the Council has a Consultation Policy that may help in setting up a Citizen’s Panel, maybe in partnership with the LSP and/or the LDF;
  • The LDF forward strategy which requires ‘community engagement’ – there may be something from this process that could be used for Sustainable Communities consultation;
  • There was also the Tracker Survey that could be utilised;
  • Any suggestions that come from these consultations would have to be reviewed to see if it would be feasible for the district.

Noted that this report would go to the main Overview and Scrutiny Committee in April.

RESOLVED:

That the Draft Sustainable Communities Report be agreed and recommended to the April meeting of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
