The Member Remuneration Panel is responsible
for making recommendations to the Council on the following
matters:
(a)
the amount of basic allowance that should be paid to its elected
Members;
(b)
the responsibilities of Members for which a special responsibility
allowance is made and the amount of such allowance;
(c)
the duties of Members for which a travelling and subsistence
allowance is made and the amount of
such allowance;
(d)
the amount of any allowance made to co-opted members of committees
etc.; and
(e)
other matters related to the review and ongoing maintenance of the
Council's Members’ Allowances Scheme.
The Remuneration Panel comprises three members
of the public.
